About our family
We are a Spanish-French family that loves to cook and eat together. Our 7-year-old twin daughter, Charlotte, has Type 1 diabetes and celiac disease, which has given us the opportunity to learn to cook in an easy and fun way counting carbohydrate and gluten-free servings for the whole family.
We are restaurateurs by profession, having operated the LA CUINA D’EN GARRIGA restaurant in Barcelona since 2008 and “foddies” at heart. Our love of food and we are passionate about finding authentic, delicious and natural products.
These two autoimmune and chronic diseases imply a drastic life change for her and we are very proud because from the first day she has taken it with a smile and a lot of responsibility. She takes her insulin 6 a day herself and has accepted all of her new dietary restrictions without any difficulty.
And at home, we are learning to make gluten-free bread, sugar-free cakes and to carefully calculate the carbohydrates that each of your meals contains. In addition, we are all following the same diet as Charlotte, because we think that if it is good for her, it will surely be good for everyone. And the truth is that we are super good!
We created this journal because one day we asked Charlotte if she would like to explain to other children and other families that food for diabetes and celiac disease can be easy, fun, simple and good for everyone, and her face lit up! !!
Being able to cook with us and share her recipes makes her happy. And so we think that we can help our daughter and surely many other families with the same disease to ensure that diabetes and celiac disease do not prevent her from having a happy childhood.
We really want to start telling you everything we learn every day with Charlotte. Thank you very much with all my heart for your support and love.
